Tracking Progress

Status of the global transition to zero emission vehicles

To help inform decision making by ZEVTC governments, the ICCT is tracking the progress of the global ZEV transition and analyzing recent developments in policies and regulations, ZEV sales, infrastructure development, and cost competitiveness. This section of the website tracks the following metrics of ZEV transition progress, accessible from the “Tracking Progress” menu:

  • ICE phase-out targets
  • Supply-side ZEV regulations
  • Demand-side fleet purchase rules and low/zero-emission zones
  • GHG and fuel efficiency standards
  • Charging infrastructure policies
  • ZEV sales as a share of total light-duty and heavy-duty vehicle sales
  • Public EV charging infrastructure deployment
  • ZEV cost competitiveness compared to ICE vehicles – measured in terms of present-day retail price competitiveness for light-duty vehicles and projected year of total cost of ownership parity for heavy-duty vehicles

This methods tracking document details the assumptions and sources for the information presented on the website.
